“You Can’t Run From It”: Peyton Manning Makes Admission About His Coaching Skills

Peyton Manning has once again lost to his brother, Eli Manning, during the recent Pro Bowl, and remarked that his head coaching skills are perhaps not the best. The Manning brothers were definitely one of the highlights of the tournament, but the NFC managed to win the 2025 Pro Bowl with a final score of 76-63. This is the second time that the NFC has won in the Pro Bowl.

Peyton Manning is one of the most legendary players in the NFL, having completed 18 seasons in the league, mainly for the Indianapolis Colts. Manning was the no. 1 pick in the 1st round of the 1998 NFL Draft and was selected by the Colts, who he played for from 1998 to 2011. Before the NFL, Manning played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers from 1994 to 1997.

“I think you have to [admit you s**k as HC]. You have to go there at this point. You just got to own it. You can’t run from it. It seems to be the common theme. We’ve had different players, different quarterbacks, different receivers, the same head coach. So I’m 0-3 against Eli, and I just have to own it.” Peyton Manning said after the tournament.

“The team moral is low to quite low… I’m 0-3 against @EliManning and I just have to own it” 😂

The 2025 Pro Bowl was held in various venues, including the Nicholson Fieldhouse in the University of Central Florida, and the Camping World Stadium in Orlando. In this year as well, the tournament consisted of skills competitions and a non-contact flag football game. Eli Manning’s NFC won the skills competitions and the flag football game.

Meanwhile, Peyton Manning fans were surprised to see yet another Manning rev it up in football. During the recent Pro Bowl tournament, Manning’s 13-year-old son, Marshall Manning was seen throwing to wide receivers. Fans were simply delighted to see yet another Manning doing what Mannings do best – playing football.

Marshall Manning is not the only next-generation Manning who is seen dipping his toes into the family game. Arch Manning, Peyton Manning’s nephew, has been playing college football as a quarterback for the Texas Longhorns since 2023.

Fans who saw Marshall Manning play a little football during the Pro Bowl had mostly positive reactions, including one who said that the younger Manning seemed to be “more mobile than Peyton was right now”. Peyton Manning, although retired, is still considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time in the NFL.
