Penn State Lands WR Julian Fleming
Fleming was the number one overall wide receiver in the 2020 recruiting cycle and the third-ranked recruit overall. In 2023 he caught 79 passes for 963 yards and 7 touchdowns and was a perfect complement to Marvin Harrison Jr. His decision to go to Happy Valley is motivated by his family as they live close and could come and see games. Fleming had this to say in a statement.
“I want to thank Ohio State and all the amazing people who were a part of my rollercoaster of a journey. It was an amazing four years and I have built relationships that will last a lifetime with so many of my fellow players as well as my coaches. Playing in Columbus has truly been one of the greatest times of my life and I want to take the time to thank the entire Buckeye nation for all the support! With that being said I am entering my name into the transfer portal for a final year!”
Can The Nittany Lions Finally Conquer The Big Ten?
It isn’t going to be easy as many of the best teams from the Pac-12 are coming to the Big Ten. Getting a prospect like Fleming is huge for head coach James Franklin. The offense this year especially stalled at times and getting a receiver like Fleming can help give a big target on the outside. There is a lot of pressure to perform and if they do not, there could be some changes coming to the program.
Penn State fans have to be happy about getting Fleming in the doors. He raises the floor of the offense and can hopefully help the program conquer the Big Ten.
