Patrick Mahomes’ mother, Randi Martin, recently kicked off her Sports Parent Academy, making the announcement through an Instagram post. The mother of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback opened up about the struggles that she went through as a single mother after her divorce from her ex-husband, Pat Mahomes Sr.
In her business venture with the Sports Parent Academy, Randi Martin hopes to help parents of athletes help their wards. Apart from bringing lessons from her own experiences as a sports parent herself, Randi Martin also brings the help of psychologists and family therapists to help her clients.
“When Patrick was being recruited, I was working two jobs and trying to figure it all out as a single mom. I didn’t always know what to do and that’s why I made this. It’s everything I’ve learned and wish I knew to help you show up for your athlete, no matter their age,” Randi Martin said in the Instagram post.
“Inside, I’ll walk with you through every stage of your child’s athletic journey, what to focus on, what to tune out, and how to show up for them in the best way possible. This is everything I’ve learned, from experience and from the professionals I’ve worked with. I hope it helps guide your family like it’s helped guide mine.” Randi Martin said in an earlier post.

As a result of Randi Martin’s hard work, her son Patrick Mahomes managed to be selected as the tenth pick of the first round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes has been playing for the Chiefs since then and has won three Super Bowls with the team.
