Patrick Mahomes Caught Fighting Teammate at the End of Super Bowl LVIII Regulation

It was a great Super Bowl LVIII for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. He managed to pull off a masterful performance to overcome the odds and win back-to-back Super Bowl championships.

However, eagle-eyed fans who kept watch on the Kansas City Chiefs sideline knew that the Chiefs had to put everything they had into the game as the final minutes of regulation saw the franchise QB clashing with his teammates.

Patrick Mahomes argues with Rashee Rice over botched play

The Kansas City Chiefs had a chance to win it all during the final minutes of the game, but they had to settle for a field goal and win the game in overtime.

Super Bowl cameras captured Mahomes having a very tense moment with wide receiver Rashee Rice as the Chiefs prepare to duke it out with the San Francisco 49ers in overtime.

The Spun’s Chris Rosvoglou provides further context to this big moment:

Mahomes had an incomplete pass intended for Travis Kelce. He missed Rice streaking over the middle of the field for what would’ve been a wide-open touchdown.

Had Mahomes saw Rice, the Chiefs would’ve won Super Bowl LVIII in regulation.

It was understandable for Patrick Mahomes to pick Kelce over Rice. The tight end has been the most consistent tight end for the Texas Tech alum, leading the team in reception yards with 984 while also notching five touchdowns.

However, RIce has also been a standout wideout for the Kansas City Chiefs this season. The rookie is the second-best receiving option for Mahomes with his 938 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. He’s proven that he’s the most reliable target in what is an otherwise lackluster Chiefs wide receiver room.

Fortunately for Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs, they managed to win it all in overtime to formally establish the Kansas City dynasty.

Had Mahomes “saw” Rice? Rice should “of” had that touchdown?
