The Texas Longhorns over the last two seasons have showed life of becoming a potential national champion one day. Texas finished with an 11-1 record during the 2024 college football regular season.

The Longhorns have reached the college football semifinals for the last two seasons, but they have fell short. Texas is looking to take its program to another level in 2025 with quarterback Arch Manning leading the way and head coach Steve Sarkisian in his fifth season with the football program. They will be one of the top programs in the Top 25 rankings entering the 2025 college football season.
Best Case Scenario For the Texas Longhorns Will Be Knocking On the Door Once Again For a National Title

Brad Crawford of CBS Sports listed the best-case scenario and the worst-case scenario for each SEC Conference team entering the 2025 college football season. Crawford thinks that the Longhorns could finish 12-0 during the regular season and this could mean that they are the potential front runners of winning the national title. He said,
“The Texas offense gets the accolades, but it’s defenders Anthony Hill and Collin Simmons that make this team one of the playoff frontrunners in 2025. The only program in the country with consecutive playoff semifinal appearances, the Longhorns are on the cusp of a national championship under Steve Sarkisian and this might be the team that gets it done on the big stage. The schedule opens with a bang at Ohio State and features Florida, Oklahoma and Georgia.”
There is a chance that the Longhorns offense could look even better in 2025 with Arch Manning being the starting quarterback compared to when Quinn Ewers was for the last two seasons, despite making the postseason both times. Manning is more talented than Ewers is, and no one can argue that notion. What will be interesting to see is if Manning gets rolling out of the gates or not.
If he does get rolling out of the gates, the hype is going to be immense about this football program. Texas can no doubt go all the way, especially with the talent they have on the roster. Manning will be one of the most watched college players in Week 1 of the season when they face the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio at Buckeyes Stadium.
If Texas were to go undefeated in 2025, there is a great chance that Manning is potentially the Heisman Trophy winner and also potentially in line to be one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL Draft as well. There is a lot of hype heading into the 2025 college football season for the Longhorns.
