The Oklahoma State football program finished their regular season with a 52-0 loss to the Colorado Buffaloes at Folsom Field in Boulder. OSU will not go bowling after finishing the season 3-9 and 0-9 in Big 12 play.
The Cowboys have not missed a bowl game appearance since Mike Gundy‘s first season as head coach of the program in 2005 when Oklahoma State finished the year 4-7.
Fans in Stillwater were agitated with Gundy following the team’s ninth consecutive loss of the season on Saturday. There was speculation Gundy, the winningest coach in OSU history, could be fired after a disastrous 2024 season.
Oklahoma State football fired two coaches
Per multiple reports, OSU did make a coaching shakeup. The Pokes fired offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn and defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo.
“Oklahoma State has fired OC Kasey Dunn and DC Bryan Nardo following the Cowboys’ 3-9 season, a source confirmed to ESPN,” ESPN’s Max Olson posted on X. “Oklahoma State went 0-9 in Big 12 play this season, ending the program’s 18-year bowl streak. First reported by Football Scoop.”

Gundy appears to be on the hot seat in 2025
With OSU choosing to oust both coordinators on Wednesday, Gundy’s job appears safe for the 2025 season. However, the 57-year-old coach should be on the hot seat next fall, especially after he decided to make major changes at both coordinator positions.
Gundy played quarterback for OSU from 1986-1989. He started his coaching career with the Cowboys as a wide receivers coach in 1990. He spent time as an assistant coach with Baylor and Maryland before returning to the Cowboys in 2001 as their assistant head coach and offensive coordinator. OSU made him the head coach in 2005.
Gundy has a 169-88 record (102-72 in Big 12 play) during his time with the program.
