The Oklahoma Sooners have had lots of good news from players lately. They have gotten many commitments from players out of the transfer portal and some players returning for their senior season. The program got some shocking news today when OL Cayden Green announced he was entering the transfer portal.

Oklahoma Sooners Lose OL Cayden Green To The Transfer Portal
Green started seven games for the Sooners in 2023. The 6-foot-5, 325-pound offensive lineman was ranked as a top 95 recruit in the 2023 class. This news comes as a little bit of a shock to the program. They were counting on Green being the anchor of their offensive line moving forward as he played well in 2023. For whatever reason, he decided that he wanted to take his talents elsewhere.
Outlook For 2024
This is a little bit of a blow for the Sooners but they still have had a great offseason so far. The return of their two best defensive players from last year is a huge boost. Having an upperclassmen presence on a group that is going to have to stop the offenses of the SEC is vital. Head coach Brent Venables should also have no trouble convincing players to come to Oklahoma as they are always in the mix for a championship.
Not too often do we get stunned by transfer portal news but this was one that not many saw coming.
