Oklahoma football will need a win in this month’s Armed Forces Bowl to avoid a second losing season in three years. For a second consecutive year, the Oklahoma Sooners failed to house a 1,000-yard rusher, a program staple for much of the 2000s. The best in Oklahoma history? Legendary OU rusher Adrian Peterson. From 2004 to 2006, Peterson rushed for 4,041 yards and 41 touchdowns while nearly winning the Heisman Trophy Award as a true freshman. An all-time college rusher and NFL great, off-the-field issues continue to plague his status as a Sooners great.
On Friday, reports surfaced that Peterson has warrants out for his arrest after failing to emerge in court regarding two separate child support cases. Earlier this year, Peterson found himself in hot water after failing to pay any of a $8.3 million settlement owned to a load company. Fans did not hold back when discussing the life trajectory of the former Oklahoma football star, who is now facing another legal issue.
Oklahoma Football Fans Dumbfounded With Adrian Peterson News
According to JPAFootball on Twitter:
𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧: Former Vikings superstar RB Adrian Peterson has warrants out for his arrest for failing to appear in court for two different child support cases, per USA Today.
Longtime Oklahoma football superstar Adrian Peterson will end the 2024 year in the crosshairs of the legal system. On Friday, news emerged that Fort Bend County in Texas issued an arrest warrant for Peterson after missing court dates for two different child support cases. In 2018, courts ordered Peterson to repay a Minnesota-based bank after defaulting on a loan two years prior. In 2019, a Maryland state judge demanded Peterson pay off another creditor for $2.4 million. Earlier this year, Peterson lost many of his assets for failing to pay off any of an $8.3 million settlement.
Peterson is most known for his time playing running back for Oklahoma football and the Minnesota Vikings. As a true freshman in 2004, Peterson ran for nearly 2,000 yards while finishing second in Heisman voting with the Oklahoma Sooners. The seventh overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, Peterson won the 2012 NFL MVP as a member of the Vikings. Nevertheless, following Peterson’s second run-in with the law, fans clowned him on Twitter amid the arrest warrant news:

Can’t pay his child support?

So first he assaults a child.
And then he refuses to appear in court to and to make child support payments.
He does not sound like a decent individual.

This is one of the biggest problems that plague former athletes today. You always hear about athletes in the news struggling to pay child support.
