Ohio State had its second bye week of the season this past weekend, and even though they weren’t on the field, there was some drama around the team.
Star running back Quinshon Judkins had surgery on his hand that won’t prevent him from missing any action, and their star freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith also had an incident.
Ohio State’s Star Player Gets Into A Car Accident
During the Ohio vs. Everyone podcast with the Torg on the Menace 2 sports podcast network, it was stated that Smith was in a fender bender this past weekend, and there seemed to be three cars involved.
The podcast stated that the police reported that Smith tried to merge in an exit-only lane, and someone hit him from behind, but Smith seemed to be okay.
Around the 43-minute mark in the podcast is where the Smith story begins.
The podcast, along with the full story, is in the link above. However, it sounds like Smith walked away with zero injuries and should be fine to play this week against Nebraska.
Smith has been one of the best wide receivers in college football this season, and he is doing it as a true freshman, which is insane.
If Ohio State wants to win it all this year, it will need Smith to make plays for quarterback Will Howard and to free up the rest of the receiving room.
Ohio State has a few through-games over the next handful of weeks with Nebraska at Penn State, and then they host Indiana towards the end of November, which looks like a Top Ten team in the country.
It will be interesting to see how the Buckeyes finish their season after last week’s loss to Oregon and whether they can rally back to force another matchup with the Ducks in the Big Ten title game.
