    Ohio State Defense: 96 Overall

The Ohio State Buckeyes will have the number one overall defense in College Football 25. The Buckeyes’ defense is rated 96 which is higher than the Georgia Bulldogs, who are ranked two.

The Buckeyes defense had its best year under the defense of coordinator Jim Knowles a season ago in 2023. The Ohio State Buckeyes ranked third in total defensive with just 265 yards allowed per game.  Also stout in scoring position, the Buckeyes only allowed one of their opponents to score over 20 points in a game last season.

The Buckeyes will return eight starters on the defensive side of the ball this year. The only starters they have to replace are linebackers Tommy Eichenberg and Steele Chambers, and safety Josh Proctor. Slated to replace Eichenberg and Chambers at linebacker will be a combination of Sonny Styles, CJ Hicks, and Cody Simon, who was the most effective linebacker a season according to PFF. At safety replacing Josh Proctor will be transferred Caleb Downs who is poised to be one of the best players in college football this season With only three departures that will be replaced with upgrades at each spot there is no reason to expect the Buckeye defense to decline this year.

With speed and athleticism all across the board, this will be one of the funniest defenses for users to play with when EA Sports College Football 24 comes out on July 19, 2024.

    Ohio State Offense: 90 Overall

Ohio State transfer running back Quinshon Judkins
Mar 5, 2024; Columbus, OH, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes running back Quinshon Judkins (1) runs during the first spring practice at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

The Ohio State Buckeyes will have the number four overall defense in college football 25. The Buckeyes offense is rated 90, which will be ranked second in the Big Ten.

The Ohio State Buckeyes offense had an uncharacteristic year a season ago in 2023 however, in 2024 they will welcome new offensive play-caller, Chip Kelly, who is the former head coach of UCLA.

The Buckeyes will have to replace quarterback Kyle McCord who transferred to Syracuse, and will do so with Will Howard, a Kansas State transfer. Howard is a seasoned college football player with Big 12 championship experience under his belt. Howard should be a calming face for the Ohio State offense that much-needed a leader of season ago.

Ohio State will return star slot receiver, and Emeka Egbuka, who will look to have a bounce-back season after his production dropped a season ago.

The Buckeyes will also bring in Ole Miss transfer Quinnshon Judkins to pair with star running back TreVeyon Henderson in the backfield. The Ohio State running back room should be a massive challnge for defenses to figure out.

With that star tandem in the backfield, Ohio State will have one of the most explosive offenses to play with in EA Sports College Football 25.
