Ohio State football has finished inside the top ten of the final College Football Playoff ranks every season since its inception in 2014. This year, the OSU Buckeyes are full steam ahead to another top-ten finish, but this time with the CFP postseason field expanding to 12 teams. However, standing in their way remains one of their most extensive in-season tests, a road tilt against fellow top-ranked Big Ten school, the Penn State Nittany Lions. Nevertheless, despite Penn State holding an undefeated record and being higher than OSU in the current AP Poll Top 25 rendition, the Buckeyes are holding firm as favorites per FanDuel Sportsbook.
Ohio State football will be the favorite per the sportsbooks for the seventh time in as many games this season. Despite the game’s magnitude, Ohio State fans are confident in their team’s ability to vanquish a James Franklin-led Penn State squad again.
Ohio State Football Fans Ooze Confidence for Battle Against PSU
NEW: Ohio State opens as a 3.5-point road favorite at Penn State next Saturday, per @FDSportsbook.
Who you got?
This weekend, Ohio State football will host the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a more than three-touchdown favorite. The week after, Ohio State will head to Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pennsylvania, to face the now-third-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions. Ohio State has won seven straight against Penn State. Additionally, Penn State head coach James Franklin has beat OSU just once, 34-31 in 2016, thanks to a game-deciding return touchdown on a missed field goal.
Arguably the best team in the James Franklin era, Penn State will get to host Ohio State football this season. However, much like the OSU’s tilt against undefeated Oregon on the road earlier this year, the sportsbooks have pegged the Buckeyes as the favorite. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes faithful are confident they will again get the best of the Nittany Lions, albeit on the road in a hostile environment:

Franklins the coach right? We all know who the pick is.

I got complete faith in Ryan Day and the Buckeyes, this is an amazing opportunity to get the season back on track.
Go Bucks!

If James Franklin is coaching he will surely find a way to lose. Only way for Day to actually improve his record against top 5 teams is to have an even worst big game coach to go against and here we are.

That’s it? Penn State doesn’t have much of an offense and I don’t see them keeping Ohio State under 30.
I could see something like 31-17.— Jim Foss (@FossJim) October 25, 2024
It’ll be a touchdown after PSU struggles with Wisco this weekend

Ohio State by 10. IMO Penn State doesnt have the weapons or QB play to beat Ohio State this year.
