The Ohio State Buckeyes had an underwhelming 2023 season. They finished with an 11-2 record. They failed to win the Big Ten East for the third straight year and didn’t make the College Football Playoff.

Their defense performed well this season. They allowed the third-least yards per game with 265.4 and allowed the second-least points per game with 11.2.

Their leading sacker revealed his plans for the 2024 season.

Sawyer broke out during his junior season and led the team in sacks. He had 48 tackles, ten for a loss, 6.5 sacks, two pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

Here’s what Jack Sawyer had to say after their last two losses and how these losses could impact their plans for the future:

“I think a lot of us all are on the same page about we don’t want to end our Ohio State careers like this,” Sawyer said after Ohio State’s Cotton Bowl loss to Missouri, in which he recorded three sacks. “Two tough losses. We all love it here. We love Coach Day. We love the staff. And sometimes unfortunate things happen and you don’t get the outcome you want, and I think it’s going to play a big factor in our decisions.”

Will the Ohio State Buckeyes win the Big 10 next year?

The Big 10 conference is expanding to 18 teams and will no longer have divisions. Four teams will join the Big 10. They include the Oregon Ducks, the UCLA Bruins, the USC Trojans, and the Washington Huskies.

Will the Ohio State Buckeyes, for the first time since 2020, win the Big 10?
