The Ohio State Buckeyes are seeing a lot of players enter the transfer portal after their bowl game loss. After losing a couple of players on Saturday, Sunday saw more of the same. Freshman wide receiver Bryson Rodgers announced he is entering the transfer portal.

Ohio State Buckeyes Lose WR Bryson Rodgers
Rodgers was a four-star recruit in the 2023 cycle. He did not see much of the field this season which isn’t a surprise considering that Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka were on the team. Rodgers played a total of six snaps this season. His position on the depth chart isn’t likely to improve. Carnell Tate and Brandon Inniss are in line for big roles in 2024 and five-star freshman Jeremiah Smith may even push for some playing time.

No Worries At Receiver
While the players leaving is concerning, the Buckeyes shouldn’t be too concerned about losing a wide receiver. If there is one position the Buckeyes have been able to recruit well it is the wide receiver position. In the past five years, they have seen some ridiculous receiver rooms including Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. With the talent coming in, they should have no problem having good receivers.

The number of players that have left should concern head coach Ryan Day. After a wave of players left when the transfer portal opened, there seems to be another wave coming after the official end of the season. Can Ohio State take back the Big Ten in 2024?
