Hashtags on the site formerly known as Twitter have been a fantastic way of gathering like-minded individuals from all over the web. When it comes to Major League Baseball, there’s so much content going out that following a certain hashtag makes sure you’re in the know. It’s the same in the NFL!
Each year, Twitter does a cool thing where if you use a special hashtag, a little icon shows up. It’s just another fun way of interacting with fans of the same team. In this series, we will give out each of the hashtags for all eight divisions, continuing with the NFC South.
Official NFC South Hashtags for 2024
Atlanta Falcons (#DirtyBirds)
The Atlanta Falcons are looking to build on their recent successes and compete for the NFC South title in 2024. With a strong running game and a brand-new veteran quarterback, the Falcons aim to improve their offensive output. The defense has also seen significant upgrades, making them a more balanced team. If they can find consistency, the Falcons could be a force in the division.
Signing Kirk Cousins was a surprise. Drafting Michael Penix, Jr. right after signing Cousins was mind-blowing. The Falcons are going to be led by dynamic running back Bijan Robinson but whoever ends up at quarterback will have plenty to work with. Kyle Pitts will eventually get to the level he was hyped to and Drake London is a formidable WR1. They’ll be interesting to watch in 2024.
Carolina Panthers (#KeepPounding)
The Carolina Panthers are entering the 2024 season with a focus on developing their young roster. With a second-year quarterback and an emphasis on building chemistry, the Panthers hope to improve on last season’s struggles. The team has made key additions to strengthen both the offense and defense. If they can find their rhythm, the Panthers could surprise some teams in the NFC South.
Bryce Young struggled last year but the Panthers didn’t do him any favors with how they build the roster. Now, they added Xavier Leggette and traded for Diontae Johnson. They went out and got Jadeveon Clowney after trading Brian Burns to the Giants. It’ll likely be another rebuilding year for the Panthers but they should be a little better, right?
New Orleans Saints (#Saints)
The New Orleans Saints are looking to remain competitive in the NFC South, with a veteran quarterback leading the charge. The team has a solid roster, but they will need to find consistency on both sides of the ball to make a playoff push. The Saints aim to capitalize on their experience and navigate a challenging schedule. If they can stay healthy, they could contend for the division title.
It’s year two with Derek Carr at quarterback and the Saints are hoping he can take a step forward after leading the team to a 9-8 mark a year ago. His wide receivers have the opportunity to take a step forward. Chris Olave is established but this could be the year for an A.T. Perry breakout. Alvin Kamara is always worth paying attention to as well.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (#WeAreTheKrewe)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are entering the 2024 season with a mix of optimism and uncertainty. With a strong roster and a focus on improving their offensive strategy, the Buccaneers aim to compete for a playoff spot. The success of their quarterback will be crucial, as will the ability to establish a consistent offensive identity. The Buccaneers are hoping to make a strong showing in the NFC South.
Baker Mayfield is their guy. He led the Buccaneers to an NFC South title and embarrassed the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are a criminally underrated wide receiver duo.
