Hashtags on the site formerly known as Twitter have been a fantastic way of gathering like-minded individuals from all over the web. When it comes to Major League Baseball, there’s so much content going out that following a certain hashtag makes sure you’re in the know. It’s the same in the NFL!

Each year, Twitter does a cool thing where if you use a special hashtag, a little icon shows up. It’s just another fun way of interacting with fans of the same team. In this series, we will give out each of the hashtags for all eight divisions, continuing with the AFC South.

The Houston Texans are entering the 2024 season with high expectations after a surprising turnaround last year, culminating in a division title. With quarterback C.J. Stroud, the Offensive Rookie of the Year, leading a potent offense that has been bolstered by veteran additions like Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon, the Texans are poised to make noise in the AFC.

Their defense, under the guidance of head coach DeMeco Ryans, is also expected to improve, making them a formidable opponent. The Texans aim to prove their 2023 success was no fluke and to build on their momentum. The AFC South has been considered the weakest division in football for a while. So, if all things go well, the Texans should be able to repeat in a timely fashion.

    Indianapolis Colts (#ForTheShoe)

The Indianapolis Colts are looking to establish themselves as serious contenders in the AFC South, led by second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson. With a focus on developing his skills and surrounding him with playmakers, the Colts are eager to improve on last season’s performance. The addition of wide receiver Adonai Mitchell is expected to enhance their offensive capabilities. However, the Colts will need to find consistency on defense to support their young quarterback and make a playoff push.

Jonathan Taylor is still a stud and will be a formidable back taking the pressure off of Richardson. This offense will go as far as Richardson will take it, however. If he stays healthy, the Colts can contend.

    Jacksonville Jaguars (#DUUUVAL)

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (16) looks for a receiver against the Tennessee Titans during the first quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are determined to reclaim their spot at the top of the AFC South after a disappointing finish last season. With quarterback Trevor Lawrence healthy and a revamped receiving corps featuring new additions like Gabe Davis, the Jaguars aim to reignite their explosive offense. The team is focused on improving their offensive line to protect Lawrence and create opportunities for their playmakers. If they can find their rhythm early, the Jaguars could emerge as the division favorites.

The team paid all of its playmakers this offseason, led by Lawrence and Josh Hines-Allen (who recently hyphenated his name). The Jags were the odds-on favorite to take the division last year but faltered down the stretch.

    Tennessee Titans (#TitanUp)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea (50) pressures Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (8) during their game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023.

The Tennessee Titans are looking to bounce back in 2024, with a renewed focus on their offensive strategy. With quarterback Will Levis entering his second year, the Titans hope to see significant growth from him as he develops chemistry with new wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd. The Titans’ defense remains a strong point, but they will need to improve their offensive consistency to compete in a rapidly evolving division. With a mix of experience and youth, the Titans are aiming to surprise their rivals.

The Titans are the wild card in this division. Levis has a cannon but losing Derrick Henry will be something to contend with.
