Hashtags on the site formerly known as Twitter have been a fantastic way of gathering like-minded individuals from all over the web. When it comes to Major League Baseball, there’s so much content going out that following a certain hashtag makes sure you’re in the know. It’s the same in the NFL!
Each year, Twitter does a cool thing where if you use a special hashtag, a little icon shows up. It’s just another fun way of interacting with fans of the same team. In this series, we will give out each of the hashtags for all eight divisions, continuing with the AFC West.
Official AFC West Hashtags for the 2024 Season
Kansas City Chiefs (#ChiefsKingdom)
The Kansas City Chiefs are once again favorites in the AFC West, led by superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. With a strong roster that includes a potent offense and a solid defense, the Chiefs are well-positioned for another deep playoff run. Their schedule features tough opponents, but the team’s experience and talent give them an edge. The Chiefs are focused on maintaining their championship pedigree and securing a high seed in the playoffs.
Plain and simple, Mahomes is the top quarterback in the NFL and is building his case when it comes to all-time greatness. A threepeat – and four in six years – would certainly put Mahomes in the Tom Brad camp. At this point, he could lead a wide receiver corp of Wal-Mart greeters to the AFC Championship.
Los Angeles Chargers (#BoltUp)
The Los Angeles Chargers are aiming for a playoff berth in 2024, with quarterback Justin Herbert leading a dynamic offense. The team has made key additions to bolster their roster, including improvements on the defensive side of the ball. If they can stay healthy and find consistency, the Chargers have the potential to challenge the Chiefs for the division title. A strong start to the season will be crucial for their playoff aspirations.
Last year was a massive disappointment, hence the mid-season firing of Brandon Staley. Now, the super spy Jim Harbaugh takes over and returns to the NFL. Can J.K. Dobbins get back to form? Will Quentin Johnston finally break out?
Denver Broncos (#BroncosCountry)
The Denver Broncos are looking to bounce back after a challenging 2023 season. With a focus on improving their offensive line and enhancing their quarterback play, the Broncos aim to regain their competitive edge. The defense remains a strong point, but the team must find ways to score consistently to compete in the tough AFC West. If they can gel as a unit, the Broncos could surprise many this season.
The Broncos used the 12th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft on Bo Nix. He has an uphill battle but Sean Payton should be up to the task. At least, defensively, they have Patrick Surtain, one of, if not the top corner in the league.
Las Vegas Raiders (#RaiderNation)
The Las Vegas Raiders are in a rebuilding phase, focusing on developing their young talent while trying to remain competitive. With a new coaching staff and a fresh approach, the Raiders are looking to improve their performance from last season. The key will be the development of their quarterback and the ability to establish a consistent offensive identity. The Raiders are hoping to make strides in a challenging division.
It’s going to be an interesting season in Las Vegas, that’s for sure.
