First year Head Coach Marcus Freeman has his first real test this Saturday against the Buckeyes of Ohio State. Notre Dame has a question mark at quarterback. They are heading into the game as 17.5 point underdogs against Ohio State, who have always been a powerhouse team for a long time. Notre Dame has not beaten Ohio State since 1936. Which means Notre Dame is 0-4 in the previous four times they have matched up. The last time these to franchises went against each other was back in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl game. Ohio State won that game 44-28 in what completed the “reverse sweep” between Notre Dame and Ohio State. Ohio State now leads the series 4 wins and 2 loses. With however this game will end, both teams will take this game as a learning experience to use for the rest of the season. Looking ahead to week 2, Notre Dame will be back at home to welcome The Thundering Herd of Marshall University.
