The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had an unforgettable 2024 season despite losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the college football national title game. Ohio State defeated Notre Dame by a final score of 34-23 in the game.

The Irish finished with a 14-2 record this season. They did not have an easy path to get to the big game. One team that will look to get to the college football playoffs next season is the Miami Hurricanes of the ACC.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Will Open 2025 Season On the Road Against the Miami Hurricanes

Notre Dame and Miami may both be ranked for this matchup entering the 2025 college football season. The Irish will no question be ranked in the Top 10 before the start of the 2025 season under head coach Marcus Freeman.

Join a conference. Stop playing easy teams, and getting blown out in championship games.

There is no doubt there will be college football fans who will criticize the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for not being in a conference yet for college football. Secondly, with the Irish facing the Miami Hurricanes, Carson Beck should be the starting quarterback for them. Beck was injured and didn’t play in the Sugar Bowl for the Georgia Bulldogs against Notre Dame and lost the game.
As for college gameday for Week 1 of next season, it won’t be in Miami. It will probably be in Columbus, Ohio with the Texas Longhorns facing the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, a primetime game between the Fighting Irish and the Hurricanes on Labor Day Weekend should be a good game.
