The San Francisco 49ers lost to the Detroit Lions once again on Monday night football by a final score of 40-34. With the win, the Lions improved to 14-2 on the season and the 49ers dropped to 6-10 on the season.
San Francisco made it to the Super Bowl last season and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in double overtime. There have been many critics this season about head coach Kyle Shanahan.
San Francisco 49ers Owner Jed York Is Bringing Back Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch In 2025
With one week to go in the regular season, many were wondering what San Francisco would be doing after the 2024 season. The 49ers have had their struggles this season. According to team owner Jed York, they will be bringing back head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch in 2025.
Some people feel like it is a major surprise that they are both coming back next season. Some felt like Shanahan didn’t do a good job this season despite the major injuries some of the team suffered.

Not his fault. Injury plagued team. They will be back when they are at full strength

I hate the 49ers as much as the next person, but why wouldn’t they come back?

Niners will be a unit next season.

The biggest question that the 49ers will have to answer now that Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch are coming back is whether or not they are going to pay quarterback Brock Purdy $50-$60 million per season. It would be crazy to sign him to that crazy contract.
They will be in the NFL spotlight this offseason. If the 49ers do not make the playoffs again next year, there is a solid chance that Shanahan and Lynch are both let go.
