Yesterday, NFL legend JJ Watt posted on social media, “Right or wrong, have heard more about the [North Carolina] football program in the last 3 months than the past 5 years combined.” This, of course, is due to the controversy surrounding the Tar Heels head coach, Bill Belichick, and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
When Belichick was first hired by UNC, it was supposed to be a bright new chapter in his already legendary coaching career. A winner of six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, he is already considered to be one of the best coaches of all time, if not the best.
But recent events involving his young girlfriend have many people worried that this foray into the college scene may end up ruining what has otherwise been a remarkable legacy.
Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson Have Certainly Brought Attention to North Carolina

Because Belichick has created a long-standing reputation for being a no-nonsense coach, many wonder why he has been so willing to put up with the questionable actions of Hudson in recent weeks.
Most recently, Belichick was humiliated during an interview with CBS meant to publicize his new book. When asked by the interviewer about how he met his girlfriend, Hudson can be heard off camera saying, “We’re not going to talk about that.” It was just one of several instances of the 24-year-old beauty pageant contestant interrupting the session, but was the only one included in its airing.
CBS cancelled their second interview with Belichick due to Hudson’s behavior.
The blowback from the disastrous CBS interview has been intense, and even led to a report that UNC had banned Hudson from their football facilities. However, the university recently released a statement to the contrary, saying that she was “welcome,” but their message also had an underlying implication for their head coach.
North Carolina Wants Bill Belichick to Limit Jordon Hudson’s Access to the Football Program

UNC’s statement began, “While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football Facilities.” This, of course, means that she is not banned from visiting Belichick while he is at work.
However, it continued with, “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
The message here, of those who have been following the story, is clear: Hudson will no longer have access to Belichick’s dealings with the football program.
Previously, it was reported that Belichick told university officials that any email correspondence he received must also be sent to Hudson. Now, it seems, the university is putting an end to that. She is welcome at the facility, but she can no longer assist him in the running of the football program.
In other words, they are expecting Hudson to act like any other person in Belichick’s life that is not a North Carolina employee.
And as for Belichick, they are expecting him to act like every other coach in college football.
