No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide Starting OT Returns For Huge Wisconsin Badgers Clash

The Alabama Crimson Tide have received excellent news as starting tackle Kadyn Proctor will return against the home team Wisconsin Badgers.

Proctor, a sophomore tackle who started as a freshman for the Crimson Tide, missed the first two games of the season with a shoulder injury. The Crimson Tide suffered along the line without Proctor in particular against the USF Bulls, but will now have the starter back for their early test against the Big Ten Conference. Proctor nearly became a member of the Big Ten and the Iowa Hawkeyes this offseason but transferred back to the Crimson Tide.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are traveling up north for a rare game against the Wisconsin Badgers, a team that is looking to become more competitive. The Crimson Tide must walk away with a win and are projected to score big against a strong Wisconsin defense. The Alabama Crimson Tide news regarding Kadyn Proctor returning to play today also gives the team a pleasant boost.

Proctor was previously injured with a shoulder impingement but only had to miss the first two games of the season due to the injury. Proctor is returning to play and starting against the Wisconsin Badgers, slowing down any sort of rush the Badgers hoped to secure. Proctor was arguably one of the top tackles in college football last season and elected to the transfer portal.

Proctor entered the portal eight days after coach Nick Saban announced his retirement and just six days after coach Kalen DeBoer was hired. The lineman transferred to the Iowa Hawkeyes before re-entering the portal with a ‘no contact’ tag, thus meaning he knew where he wanted to go already. Proctor then returned to the Crimson Tide but suffered a shoulder injury during training camp that left him sidelined.

What Does the Return of Proctor Mean for the Alabama Football Staff?

Having Proctor back is like breathing a massive sigh of relief for the Crimson Tide as their line is once again whole. Proctor is considered to be one of the top returning linemen in the country as just a sophomore and could have a serious impact on Alabama moving forward. Where Proctor is going to help most is in the pass rush as he can eat up the moves of opposing rushers.

The Wisconsin Badgers have struggled severely with getting any sort of pressure on the quarterback and Proctor can solidify that. The tackle is likely going to face a powerful look in freshman Ernest Willor Jr, but that should not be a major test for the lineman. The return of Proctor is also crucial because of the teams that the Crimson Tide must face moving forward.

The Alabama Crimson Tide must face the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs following their trip up north to play the Badgers. The Bulldogs destroyed the Clemson Tigers and look just as strong as they did a year ago, which could mean trouble for the Crimson Tide. Alabama is going to have to hold solid along the line in order to have a chance against a tough team in the Bulldogs.
