NFL: It is believed that Cris Collinsworth’s future at NBC is uncertain.

There is speculation that things may change for the veteran announcer, who has been a part of NFL’s ‘Sunday Night Football’ for quite some time.

    According to journalist Lou Flavius:

Erin Andrews, who works for FOX, recently revealed being in a contract year, suggesting she could be a free agent ahead of the next NFL season.

“I think my goal is always kind of the same as last year. Enjoy it, because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up — and mine is,” she told her co-host, Charissa Thompson, on their podcast.

It’s thought that Collinsworth could be in a similar situation.

Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina has reported that the ‘SNF’ color commentator has a year or two left on his deal and could potentially be replaced by Greg Olsen, who was demoted by FOX Sports ahead of Tom Brady’s arrival.

“Greg Olsen getting bumped for Tom Brady is tough because Olsen was so good and earned the No. 1 analyst role. And Olsen has made it clear that he wants to be a No. 1 analyst somewhere. He reiterated this point with me on a recent SI Media With Jimmy Traina episode,” Traina noted.

“Collinsworth, 65, is reportedly under contract with NBC for either one or two more years. I would think a Tirico-Olsen booth has to sound enticing to NBC. Would the network, though, want to remain loyal to Collinsworth, who has been with NBC since 2006?”

Colinsworth has been NBC’s top NFL analyst for 18 years but, at 65, could possibly be interested in a change.

A new voice could also be attractive to the network. There may be some temptation due to the fact that Olsen is considered one of the best in the business.
