Hurts is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL. His ability to extend plays with his legs and pick up short-yardage situations gives him great stats. The MVP award is all about stats and the narrative surrounding the player. Hurts should have the stats thanks to an elite offensive line and weapons like AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. Patrick Mahomes is always in the mix. His ability to take whatever collection of talent is on the field and make a top-ten offense is unprecedented. Other players to look out for would be Lamar Jackson as he looks to make a comeback after last year’s injuries. Justin Herbert could also be in line for the award after being awarded a big contract. New offensive coordinator Kellen Moore could bring his stats to new heights.
