The Los Angeles Chargers are set to undertake a historic travel schedule during the 2025 season, covering more miles than any other team in league history. With 37,086 miles to traverse and 42 time zones to cross, their rigorous itinerary underscores the challenges of a globally expanding NFL.

The team’s schedule includes a notable season opener in São Paulo, Brazil, against the Kansas City Chiefs, marking one of the league’s seven international games. Additionally, team will crisscross the country for matchups against Eastern Time Zone opponents, adding significantly to their travel demands. This relentless schedule places them far ahead of the next team, the Los Angeles Rams, who will travel 34,832 miles.

LA’s total travel distance is more than four times that of the Cincinnati Bengals, who will log just 8,753 miles, the league’s lowest. While the Bengals’ furthest trip is to Denver, the team’s schedule reflects the growing emphasis on international and cross-country games. These disparities highlight the uneven travel burdens faced by various teams.

Despite the daunting logistics, the Chargers are embracing the challenge. The franchise understands that such a demanding schedule offers a unique opportunity to showcase their talent on a global stage. However, the effects of extensive travel on player performance and recovery remain a concern.

Just recently, the NFL revealed how much traveling the team will have to make for the upcoming season. This can be seen in a video shared by the league’s official Instagram account.

As the NFL continues to expand its international footprint, Los Angeles’ 2025 schedule serves as a testament to the evolving demands of the sport. For the team, this season will not only test their resilience but also solidify their presence as a global ambassador for the league.
