NFL: Dalvin Cook was one of the most sought-after free agents this off-season. The Minnesota Vikings released the 27-year-old in early June after failing to find a trade partner. Cook had been scheduled to make $10.4 million in base salary this upcoming season. Over one month after the Vikings released him, they still reportedly had a contract offer on the table for him. However, the pro-bowl running back decided to join Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets for the 2023 season.
New York Jets Running Back Dalvin Cook Makes Statement About Joining Aaron Rodgers (NFL)
On Thursday, after Cook’s first practice with New York, he explained that Rodgers didn’t need to convince him to sign since the running back has seen the quarterback play so much.
“He doesn’t have to recruit; his game recruits itself,” Cook said, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini. “Aaron is Aaron. If you don’t want to be part of something like that, I don’t know what you want in football.”
“Obviously, when you dig deep and look into the roster, all the pieces are put together,” Cook said.
