Netflix and the NFL have once again teamed up. After announcing games will be broadcast on the streaming service on Christmas Day and the success of the “QUARTERBACK” show on the platform, we now have “RECEIVER” debuting on Netflix.

It premiered on July 10th, and it is off to a resounding start. Just how good is it doing on Netflix? Read below to find out.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, “RECEIVER” is currently the top show on Netflix in the United States. At the time of writing, this is two days after the show’s debut on the streaming platform. It is safe to say that the show is off to a strong start.

For those of you who do not know, “RECEIVER” focuses on five of the top NFL players in the game. These are four wide receivers and a tight end. So, who are the five lucky players to be chosen to appear on this show?

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle and WR Deebo Samuel were two of the players focused on in this show. Along with them, we have Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, who is arguably the best at his position in the NFL. Along with these players, the show also covers Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Bown and Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams.

Each of these players has a unique storyline to bring to the table. Two of these players (Kittle, Samuel) lost a heartbreaker in Super Bowl LVIII. Amon-Ra St. Brown also lost with the Lions in the NFC Championship. On top of this, Justin Jefferson dealt with significant injuries and Davante Adams was on a team going through major trials and tribulations.

Netflix is allowing NFL fans to get a taste of the action as they anxiously wait for the 2024 season to begin. That season kicks off on Thursday, September 5th. Later in the season, Netflix will get a chance to show what they can bring to the table with Christmas Day game broadcasts.

This is the second show on Netflix focusing solely on NFL players’ journey throughout a season. Now, we will have to see if this leads to a third show and if it leads to Netflix getting more NFL coverage moving forward.
