Legendary NFL running back Marshawn Lynch has remained relevant in the NFL world due to his unique and exuberant personality.
One way he is staying relevant is his podcast with California governor Gavin Newsom and Doug Hendrickson., where Lynch made some interesting statements about his potential future.
Marshawn Lynch may try to become the mayor of Oakland
Lynch, an Oakland native, has always shown love to the place where he grew up. Lynch is the Vice President/Co-Founder of “Fam 1st Family Foundation,” a Bay Area-based charity that aims to help youth.
Lynch and Newsom debated whether Lynch could actually run a political campaign in Oakland. Newsom said in an article from Pro Football Talk that Lynch’s current polling numbers are better than he’s ever had.
“That’s off the charts, brother,” Newsom said. “Seven percent unfavorable? That never has happened in my life.”
“We don’t want to jump the gun just yet, from what I was told,” Lynch said. “I got a good internal team, you know, and I want to make sure I take this off-line with my internal team and make sure this is something that we really wanna do.”
Some fans support Lynch’s potential political transition saying his passion for the city would make him a good fit. Others think Lynch isn’t equipped to handle a job with such responsibility.
