The NFL Football season has already reached week five. Tonight, the Chicago Bears will take on the Washington Commanders. The week will conclude Monday night when the Green Bay Packers travel to Las Vegas to take on the Raiders. Here are my top three NFL Football games to watch this week.
NFL Football Game of the Week: Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers (Sunday Night)
Dallas and San Francisco have been two of the best teams so far this NFL Football season. The 49ers are a perfect 4-0 while the Cowboys come in a 3-1. This is a re-match of an NFC Divisional game last year that San Francisco won.
While the Dallas offense has been solid so far, it’s their defense that has taken the next step. It’s a unit that has been one of the best in the league as well. They will need their ebst game to stop the San Francisco offense. Running back Christian McCaffrey scored four touchdowns last week and quarterback Brock Purdy continues to get the job done. It should be one of the better games of the year to this point.
NFL Football Game of the Week: New York Jets at Denver Broncos
The injury to Aaron Rodgers takes away a lot of the attention of this game. Rodgers and Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson have had some great head-to-head battles in their NFL Football careers.
So why is this one of the better games of the week? If you remember, Denver head coach Sean Payton ripped Jets offensive coordinator Nathaiel Hackett, who coached the Broncos last season. Payton essentially said how poorly of a job Hackett and his staff did with the Broncos. Hackett did not last the end of year one.
Will the Jets come in with that extra motivation for their offensive coordinator? I hope so because Payton crossed a line that most coaches don’t cross. It’ll be interesting to see how the Jets play in this game.
NFL Football Game of the Week: Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders (Thursday Night)
Tonight’s game is likely to be ugly and not draw a great viewing audience. However, Peter King mentioned there could be a chance head coach Matt Eberflus is fired if they lose tonight. The Bears have never fired a head coach in the middle of the season. It’s been a dumpster fire this NFL Football season in Chicago. With a mini bye after tonight, it does make sense for Chicago to make a move.
At 2-2, you could say the Commanders have played better than some may have thought. Quarterback Sam Howell is playing decent and their defense is always able to keep them in games. Their offense can still be shaky at times, but they did take the Philadelphia Eagles to overtime on the road last week. I expect the Commanders to win tonight.
