The Dallas Cowboys are 7-8 this season and they will not be heading to the playoffs after winning the NFC East with a 12-5 record a season ago. Dallas’s season could have gone downhill once quarterback Dak Prescott got injured, but head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Cooper Rush have been the reason why the ship hasn’t sailed.
Micah Parsons and the defense deserve some credit for this ship not fully sinking. It will be interesting to see what moves Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will make this NFL offseason.
CBS Sports Has the Dallas Cowboys Selecting Boise State Broncos Running Back Ashton Jeanty In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
In the latest mock draft for CBS Sports by Chris Trapasso, he has the Dallas Cowboys selecting 15th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. With that selection, Trapasso has the Cowboys selecting Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty.
Dallas needs to find a starting running back for next season and beyond. Trapasso said:
“No way Jerry Jones will be able to resist selecting Jeanty here, even though Rico Dowdle has been a formidable threat on the ground these last few games.”
This season with Boise State, he has rushed for 2,497 yards on 344 carries and 29 touchdowns, along with averaging 7.3 yards per carry. He also has caught 20 passes for 116 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 5.6 yards per reception. Jeanty would provide a different dimension to this Dallas Cowboys offense in 2025 and beyond. Ashton Jeanty will face the Penn State Nittany Lions in the postseason.
May Have To Trade Up For Him
The Dallas Cowboys have a 7-8 record this season and it will be interesting to see how the final two games of the season are for them. Depending on where they draft, there is a chance that if they want the future star running back, they may have to trade up for him.
There is a chance that the San Francisco 49ers at number 11 could wind up drafting him and that would be where Jeanty could be first selected. It would be a surprise if Ashton Jeanty would be available at number 15. However, if the Cowboys are picking in the teens and if Jeanty is still available for them then, Jerry Jones wouldn’t be able to call in the pick fast enough also.
