The New York Jets have had a season to forget in 2024 and currently sit at a 3-8 record. With playoff aspirations going into the year, just about everything has gone wrong for the Jets this season despite the plethora of talent on the roster. According to a report, the players on the team have given up hope on the season.
New York Jets Players Have Given Up
According to SNY’s Connor Hughes, players are “just ready for the season to be over” and have “checked out.”

Now, you have a team source described to SNY as ‘checked out.’ Players aren’t angry or annoyed at their 3-8 record. They’re, as one person described, just ready for it to be over.
Team Struggles
New York has had one of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory after all of the hype coming into 2024. With quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally healthy and new additions like receiver Mike Williams, everyone expected the Jets to at least be competitive for a playoff spot by now.
Instead, Rodgers has looked the worst he has ever been in his career, Williams was dealt to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and despite signing Davante Adams at the deadline, the passing attack has been amongst the bottom in the league. It has brought up the question of whether the team should even bring back Rodgers next season.
