The New York Jets are reportedly on the cusp of shopping Mike Williams, but at least one team showed significant interest in acquiring the veteran wide receiver earlier this month.

According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the Las Vegas Raiders initially were asking for Williams as part of the trade that sent All-Pro Davante Adams to the Jets in exchange for a conditional third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft that can become a second-round choice if New York makes the AFC Championship Game this season.
“The Raiders tried to get the Jets to throw [Mike Williams] in the trade,” Breer said during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. “For Davante Adams, and the Jets wouldn’t do it.
“Now, maybe there’s some stance on that that has changed, but I know [trading for Williams] won’t happen for free.”

Since the Adams blockbuster, Williams has tumbled down the Jets’ depth chart at receiver and seemingly fallen out of favor with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as the duo has struggled throughout the season to get and stay on the same page.
Given the amount of teams with needs at wide receiver as the second half of the season begins, Williams could figure to be a hot commodity ahead of the November 5 NFL trade deadline.
