Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are getting ready to begin their 2024 season on Monday night. They will do this by going on the road to face the San Francisco 49ers.
This is not just any ordinary primetime matchup. For Aaron Rodgers, it is a chance at redemption after playing just four snaps in 2023. On Monday, he will face the man who ended his 2023 season early.
Aaron Rodgers Has No Hard Feelings
In an interview earlier today, Rodgers was asked how he felt about facing the man who ended up causing him to tear his Achilles last season. This man is Leonard Floyd, who was on the Buffalo Bills last season but signed with the San Francisco 49ers this past offseason. Rodgers is at least not publicly bitter about the incident and claims that Floyd should not feel responsible for the abrupt end to his 2023 campaign:
“He’s a great player. I hope he doesn’t feel in any way responsible for that at all.”

Leonard Floyd’s Journey
Believe it or not, Floyd has had a long journey of his own in the NFL. He may not have been in the league for 20 years like Aaron Rodgers; however, this is still going to be his ninth season in the league.
Floyd originally got drafted by the Chicago Bears. However, he moved on to the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. After that, two significant events happened recently in his career.
The first was winning Super Bowl LVI with the Rams in 2022. After that, his sack of Aaron Rodgers in the first game of the 2023 season resulted in Rodgers missing almost the entire 2023 season and heartbreak amongst the Jets fanbase. Now, he faces Rodgers on the opposite side of the field in a new uniform again on Monday night.
New York Jets Moving Forward
The Jets’ 2023 season ended up being disappointing, to say the least. Now, there are expectations for this team to make the playoffs and perhaps even the Super Bowl.
Aaron Rodgers is not getting any younger to capture his second Super Bowl, considering he is 40 years old. He may not hold Floyd accountable for his Achilles injury, however, that does not mean he wants the same result to happen again. We will have to see how this plays out in four days.
