New York Jets Linked To 8-Time Pro Bowl Quarterback After Brutal Loss To The Dallas Cowboys

The New York Jets came back to reality in Week Two.  After beating the Buffalo Bills 22-16 in dramatic fashion, the Jets were trounced by the Dallas Cowboys 30-10.  Zach Wilson completed just 44% of his passes against Dallas, throwing for 170 yards, 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions.  His quarterback rating was an abysmal 38.1.

Many believe the Jets have a roster that could compete for a playoff spot and possible a Super Bowl, however, without elite quarterback play it is unlikely they’ll get that opportunity.  With Rodgers out for the year (maybe), the Jets have been linked to an 8-time pro-bowl quarterback who may be interested in a comeback.

The New York Jets Have Shown Interest In 8-Time Pro Bowl Quarterback Philip Rivers

An ML Football report said that the Jets are interested in retired quarterback Philip Rivers, who last played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2020. Whether the eight-time Pro Bowler is interested in returning is unclear, according to the report. An ML Football report said that the Jets are interested in retired quarterback Philip Rivers, who last played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2020. In an interview with TMZ Sports, legendary tight end Antonio Gates said that the Jets don’t need to look much further than Philip Rivers if they are looking to replace Aaron Rodgers this season. He said Rivers is still “more than capable.”

The Jets have been public about their confidence in Zach Wilson.  Head Coach Robert Saleh has made it clear on multiple occasions that the team is riding with Wilson moving forward, however, after the Week Two outing the team would be silly to not at least consider other options.
