As it stands, Haason Reddick is still holding out against the New York Jets and hasn’t played a single game for them yet. Rather than endure all the controversy, the latest NFL analysis projected the Arizona Cardinals as the ideal landing spot for the linebacker.

As the 2024 NFL trade deadline approaches, discussions surrounding Reddick’s future with the Jets have intensified. There’s a chance that trading the linebacker is becoming more likely than negotiating a new contract for the linebacker. This development comes as the Jets weigh their options amid a challenging season.

The Jets face a crucial decision of either extending Reddick’s contract to secure his services or exploring trade opportunities that could yield valuable assets. With his proven ability to impact the edge rush, he remains a sought-after player, potentially attracting interest from several teams looking to bolster their defenses.

The Jets’ defensive strategy may benefit from acquiring additional resources, allowing them to focus on long-term improvements. Reddick’s current situation reflects the broader dynamics of NFL roster management, where teams must balance immediate performance with future planning.

Given his performance and market value, a trade could provide the Jets with opportunities to enhance their roster. As the deadline nears, the organization must carefully consider its options. If they choose to move Reddick, it could initiate a new phase for the team, potentially paving the way for strategic acquisitions that align with their goals.

ESPN’s NFL Analysis Project Arizona Cardinals as a Potential Landing Spot for New York Jets’ Haason Reddick

As it stands, the Arizona Cardinals are projected to be a possible landing spot for Reddick. This is discussed in detail by ESPN’s Dan Graziano.

Potential landing spot: Arizona Cardinals. Yes, the same team that drafted Reddick in the first round in 2017. It’s a different front office and a different coaching staff than Arizona had the first time he was there. The Cardinals’ offense looks as if it could be stellar, but their defense needs help — they are 28th in pass rush win rate at 28.9%. Other possibilities include the Buccaneers, 49ers and Bears.

The Jets’ contract situation with Haason Reddick remains unresolved after acquiring him from the Eagles for a 2026 third-round pick. Despite his impressive track record of at least 11 sacks in the past four seasons, Reddick has yet to play, sitting out offseason activities and incurring fines. With injuries affecting their roster, the Jets must decide whether to negotiate a deal or trade him for valuable assets.

Ultimately, whether Reddick stays or moves, there will be complexities regarding his situation in New York or any other team willing to trade for him. In any case, the Cardinals present a worthy destination for the linebacker should the Jets choose them as their trade partner.
