The New York Jets acquired former Philadelphia Eagles star pass-rusher Haason Reddick in a March trade, but have yet to have him in the building for much more than an introductory press conference.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on June 4 that Reddick hasn’t taken part in any of the team’s voluntary offseason workouts or the offseason program, with mandatory minicamp approaching.
“He has not,” Saleh said, when asked if Reddick has been in the team facility at all this spring.
Moreover, Salah says that he has not had any communication whatsoever with Reddick.

Why Haason Reddick May Be Skipping New York Jets Workouts
Reddick had the final three years of his contract voided and is set to make $14.25 million in 2024 while counting $15 million against the cap for the Jets this season, but, was fairly adamant prior to being traded that he’d like to rework his deal.
Saleh publicly maintains that he isn’t concerned about Reddick’s absence.
“Obviously, as a coach,” Saleh said. “Selfishly you want everybody here all the time. But, it is voluntary and I’m thankful for the guys who are here putting in the work and those are the guys I’m going to focus on.”
Reddick arrives in New York after posting 11 sacks in 2023, despite struggling down the stretch amid the Eagles’ disappointing finishing run of the season that ended with Philadelphia dropping the NFC Wild Card game in Tampa Bay to the Buccaneers.
“Haason’s a pro,” Saleh said, when asked if he’s concerned about not communicating with Reddick. “He’s been in this league for a while and produced at a very high level for a long time. He’s got his routine. If it makes people feel better, we know where he’s at, we know what he’s doing, and we know he’s working his tail off to get to where he needs to do have a productive 2024 season.”
The Jets begin mandatory minicamp next week, and Saleh says he expects to see Reddick report at that time.
