The New York Giants have to make a critical decision with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Giants could very well use its pick on a franchise quarterback or decide to go a different route.

It is no secret that the New York Giants need to find a franchise quarterback after having one of the worst quarterback rooms in the NFL last season. Also, the Giants have glaring holes at other positions on the roster as well.
CBS Sports Mock Draft Has the New York Giants Selecting Wide Receiver/Cornerback Travis Hunter

CBS Sports writer Mike Renner has the New York Giants drafting Travis Hunter from the Colorado Buffaloes with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Drafting Hunter third overall for the Giants would mean that Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are both off the board when they are up to pick. Renner said:
“The Giants could use both a wide receiver and a corner, so why not take the most uniquely qualified prospect in NFL history to play both. Travis Hunter’s tape comes with a constant asterisk that he hasn’t come off the field the entire game, and it’s scary to think how he’ll perform with some rest.”
Hunter is 6’1″ and weighs 185 lbs. He won the Heisman Trophy this past season. Travis Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns, along with averaging 13.1 yards per catch. On defense, he had 35 total tackles, 11 pass deflections, one forced fumble, and four interceptions.
Decisions To Make

If the New York Giants did draft Travis Hunter, would he be playing cornerback or wide receiver? The Giants have a major need for cornerback and Hunter could be the top cornerback on the roster. However, New York fans would love to see Travis Hunter and Malik Nabers as the 1-2 wide receiver punch and it could be scary if they get the right quarterback.
However, if the New York Giants don’t feel like Hunter is the right pick here assuming both quarterbacks are off the board, then they could draft Abdul Carter from the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Giants could also trade down from the third pick as well.
