The New York Giants have a conundrum on their hands.
After signing veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston during free agency, the Giants don’t have to take a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
However, given that neither Wilson nor Winston are the long-term solution at the most important position in sports, it isn’t difficult to envision general manager Joe Schoen and New York at least entertaining the idea of drafting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
NFL Scout’s Advice to New York Giants at No. 3 in the NFL Draft

At least one rival scout believes there could be a different and perhaps even more palatable scenerio that plays out for the Giants if the Tennessee Titans select Miami quarterback Cam Ward No. 1 overall and the Cleveland Browns take Colorado unicorn Travis Hunter.
“Easy decision,” an anonymous NFL scout told ESPN’s Matt Miller, of what the Giants should do if Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, the consensus top prospect in this year’s class is on the board at No. 3 overall.
“Sure,” the scout adds. “In a perfect world we’d wish this would align a little better with a more immediate and glaring need on the roster, but we’ll take the blue-chip talent and rest easier for it.
“The only other real consideration would be a trade down if the right opportunity presented itself on draft night, given how many pieces [away] this team is.”
Carter is a disruptive force multiplier and one of the most consistently dominant players in the entire class.
During his first season playing the position, in 2024, Carter produced 12 sacks and an incredible 24 tackles for loss, so, it isn’t difficult to imagine the duo of Brian Burns and Carter swarming towards opposing quarterbacks and running backs in the backfield beginning this September.
