Malik Nabers has gotten a quick introduction to what life has been like for the New York Giants over the past decade.
Since the year 2014 the Giants have averaged 10.2 losses per season, and have already dropped the first two games of the 2024 campaign.
Despite a pair of disappointing losses, Nabers offered a strong perspective on overcoming the adversity of an 0-2 start.
“You’ve got to keep your head down, work a little bit harder,” Nabers told reporters following Wednesday’s practice. “Stay together with the people in this locker room and stay together as a team.”
A costly drop from Nabers was a key reason the Giants came up short against Washington in Week 2. However, the No. 6 overall pick in this year’s draft still pulled down 10 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown, underscoring the big-play ability general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll saw in LSU that pushed him up their draft board.
Nabers insists that he and his Giants teammates haven’t lost confidence, despite an inauspicious start to the season.
Things won’t get much easier for the Giants, who will try to right the ship and get their first win of the season against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon.
“We’ve got to go in there with a great attitude,” Nabers said. “If you go in there with a sloppy attitude, you’re going to go out there with another loss. Try to put that attitude back into a positive attitude into the locker room and just go in there and try to get a win.”
