New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll is preparing for his third NFL season as the team’s head coach. Daboll in his first season finished with a 9-7-1 record and a playoff appearance and in his second season, he finished with a 6-11 record and no playoff appearance.
On Tuesday night, the second episode of Hard Knocks will air on HBO at 9 p.m. ET. This is the offseason edition and head coach Brian Daboll was not shown as much during the first episode. The first episode was more catered to the Giants front office, especially general manager Joe Schoen.
However, in the first episode, Daboll did talk to Schoen about hiring new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen after the Giants parted ways with Wink Martindale during the offseason. Daboll read Bowen’s defensive stats to Schoen and loved the run defense and the red zone defensive stats he has to offer. One of the things New York has been missing in the past is a legitimate pass rush.
The second episode will feature more of the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Head Coach Brian Daboll and other New York Giants front office members were in attendance scouting other college football players. It will be interesting to see what happened behind the scenes.

With the second episode being at the scouting combine, Daboll and other Giants brass were watching from a press box. Brian Daboll said:
“I guarantee you I could run 7.0 forty.”
Other Giants people with him doubt he could do it. Here is the video:
Brian Daboll swears he can run a 7.0 40-yard dash 😅

However, this will not be one of the most important questions that the New York Giants fanbase will want to know on Tuesday night during Hard Knocks. One of the most important questions they will want to know is which players they loved throughout the scouting combine and which ones did they not like.
They wound up drafting wide receiver Malik Nabers from LSU sixth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, but what happened before that moment that caused the Giants to draft him? They also passed up on Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy with that pick as well.
Did they like Nabers better than Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State? New York was also scouting wide receiver Rome Odunze from Washington and other quarterbacks during the offseason.
