    REPORT: The New Orleans Saints Signed a 6-Year Veteran Amid Juwan Johnson’s Injury

    The New Orleans Saints completed mandatory minicamp last Thursday and will have a month and a half off until training camp begins.

    Unfortunately, the Saints didn’t finish minicamp without any injuries. Their most recent injury was to their tight end.

    Juwan Johnson suffered a foot injury during mandatory minicamp and will undergo surgery next week. Johnson will be out indefinitely, but the Saints are optimistic that he will be ready for the start of the season.

    The Saints signed a veteran tight end in response to his injury.

    According to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, the Saints signed Jesper Horsted.

    Horsted is on his third team in his sixth year in the league. He has played 41 games and started one in his career, with 14 receptions for 131 yards and three touchdowns.

    The Saints currently have seven tight ends on their roster, including Juwan Johnson, Taysom Hill (FLEX), Foster Moreau, Dallin Holker, Horsted, Michael Jacobson, and Tommy Hudson.

    Horsted will compete for a roster spot.

    Juwan Johnson, Taysom Hill, and Foster Moreau are a lock for a roster, while the last spot is up for grabs. Horsted will compete for the final roster spot against Dallin Holker, Michael Jacobson, and Tommy Hudson.
