The New Orleans Saints took a demoralizing loss last week against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. Quarterback Derek Carr, who has been a key factor in the Saints’ offense, suffered an oblique injury in the loss, causing him to miss the rest of the matchup. It was announced earlier that Carr would likely miss multiple weeks because of the injury, and New Orleans has named their starting quarterback going forward.
New Orleans Saints Name Starter
The Saints have named Spencer Rattler the new starting quarterback while Carr is injured. Rattler was drafted by the team in this year’s draft from South Carolina. He was one of the top players in College Football, going for 10,807 passing yards and 77 touchdowns.

New Orleans Saints’ Struggles
The Saints started out the 2024 season as the hottest team in the league with big wins over the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers. However, since playing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week three, the team has dropped three games in a row, leaving many fans questioning why they are struggling.
With weapons all over the field like running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans has established that they can come at teams in multiple ways. However, many teams have seemed to figure out their weakness, and it has been difficult for the offense to get anything going again. With a tough matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team is in desperate need of big win.
Do you think Rattler will be able to have success as a starter, and if so, will we not see Carr on the field again this season?
