The New Orleans Saints just wrapped up a disappointing season. Finishing with a 9-8 record, they came up just short of the playoffs and now, the organization has to take a long, hard look at themselves. This includes veteran DE Cameron Jordan. Today, he provided a big career update for Saints fans.
Returning to the New Orleans Saints
Cameron Jordan had an interview with Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Football Network earlier today. In that interview, he revealed that he plans to return to the New Orleans Saints in 2024. Jordan also expressed just how much he loves the Saints:
“I love the Saints too much to retire.” -Cameron Jordan
Cameron Jordan Claims He Played Hurt
In addition to the above, Jordan also revealed that he was playing hurt for the majority of the 2023 NFL season. He claims that he was dealing with an ankle injury all year. When you take a closer look at his numbers, this claim starts to make sense.
Jordan had just two sacks and 20 combined tackles in 2023. Both of those numbers are the lowest he has had in a season since his rookie year. Considering he has been in the NFL since 2011, it should show just how much Jordan regressed this season. Now, he will look to recover from this injury and attempt to run it back at least one more time.
