The New Orleans Saints are one of the few veteran teams in the NFC South. While the rest of the division seems to be embracing the youth movement, the Saints are hoping their veteran leadership can win them the division crown. Defensive end Cameron Jordan revealed in an interview his high expectations for Derek Carr.
New Orleans Saints Cameron Jordan On Derek Carr
The Super Bowl this year is in Las Vegas. Jordan wants Carr to go back to the site of his former team playing in the Super Bowl.
“I expect a Super Bowl,” Jordan said during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio, per Nick Shook of the league’s website. “I expect to take Derek Carr, DC4, back to Vegas where he just left and have a return run at the Super Bowl.”
While this may seem like a lofty goal, Jordan went on to say that there is no point walking into a season thinking winning 10 games is the goal. He wants to go undefeated and make it back to a Super Bowl.
Can The Saints Make Noise In The NFC?
The NFC conference is very weak this year. The Eagles, Cowboys, and 49ers are the cream of the crop but every other team comes with a lot of question marks. This means that there are four playoff spots up for grabs. If a couple of things go their way, the Saints could find themselves in the NFC Championship. With the one game format of the NFL, anything is possible. Carr admitted that he had a down year last year. If he can get back to his career average, the Saints could make some noise in the NFC.
The New Orleans Saints are hoping Cameron Jordan can deliver on the defensive side while Derek Carr revives the offense.
