Despite the struggles of the New England Patriots offensive line, which consistently ranks as the worst O-line unit in the National Football League in PFF’s rankings, they have a bright spot in left tackle, Vederian Lowe. Lowe has had a solid start to his third year in the league and continues to audition for a starting offensive tackle spot long-term. Through four games and three starts, he has given up eight pressures, six hurries, two QB hits, zero sacks, and has a 76.5 pass block grade, which ranks 20th out of 79 qualified tackles who’ve played a minimum of 20% of snaps h/t PFF.
However, there are concerns about his health since Lowe has dealt with three separate injuries since mid-August. He suffered an oblique injury in mid-August and missed some training camp but suited up for Week 1, which could be why he wasn’t given the starting job in their season opener. After starting his first game of the 2024 season in Week 2, he suffered a knee injury and missed Weeks 3 and 4. He returned in Week 5 but suffered another injury last week.
The New England Patriots starting LT exited last week with a lower-leg injury
Vederian Lowe suffered an apparent ankle injury in the second quarter of their 21-41 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 6, and the Patriots initially listed him as questionable. Lowe did not return for the rest of the game since they downgraded him to out at halftime. Zachary Thomas filled in at left tackle for the rest of the game.
He will not play in Week 7
Vederian Lowe did not participate in Wednesday and Thursday’s practice. The New England Patriots departed for London on Thursday evening and ruled Lowe out before leaving, indicating he didn’t travel with the team. While he misses his third game, the Patriots will have their seventh different offensive line combination of the 2024 season.

How will they shuffle their offensive line?
Jerod Mayo hinted at what the New England Patriots starting offensive line could look like against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The expectation is to move Demontrey Jacobs from RT to LT, Mike Onwenu from RG to RT, and reinstall Layden Robinson at RG. So, the projected starting lineup from LT to RT is Demontrey Jacobs, Michael Jordan, Ben Brown, Layden Robinson, and Mike Onwenu.
