The New England Patriots are in the midst of a new era.  New head coach Mike Vrabel is already creating different expectations for this team.  However, one of those expectations could unexpectedly include a massive trade right before the 2025 NFL Draft.

According to a leading New England insider, the AFC East team is close to completing a blockbuster deal:

The Patriots have been one of the busiest teams since the new league year began last month. They bolstered their offense with the signings of superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs and offensive linemen Garrett Bradbury and Morgan Moses.

To beef up the defense, the New England Patriots also brought in star pass rusher Harold Landry, ball-hawking cornerback Carlton Davis, linebacker Robert Spillane and Super Bowl 59 hero Milton Williams.

But are Mike Vrabel and company about to make another giant splash? One Patriots insider strongly indicated so…

The @PatsPro_21 X/Twitter account asked New England Patriots insider Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal if he’s merely speculating or if he’s aware of the Patriots going “big game hunting” on the trade market.

Bedard’s two-word response to the fan was awfully compelling, to say the least:

    I know

Interpret Bedard’s X post there however you wish.

Patriots hold fourth selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, behind Giants (third), Browns (second) and Titans (first). Cam Ward of Miami, Abdul Carter of Penn State, and Travis Hunter of Colorado are the consensus choices for the top three.

What Are The Patriots Biggest Needs?

A strong edge rusher position is one of the Patriots’ biggest needs in 2025. Following Matthew Judon’s trade to the Atlanta Falcons, the Patriots struggled to get a pass-rushing presence last season.

Wide receiver is another big need. Stefon Diggs was a big addition, but more depth beyond Diggs will be crucial for this tea.

Would the Patriots consider trading up in the draft for Abdul Carter? Or would they consider trading down and still landing a premium wide receiver in round one?
