The New England Patriots’ five-and-a-half-week break is finally over. The Patriots’ rookies reported for training camp last Friday, while veterans reported on Tuesday. Their first practice begins Wednesday, and fans are welcome to observe.
Many Patriots fans waited for the availability of their reliable receiver, who is recovering from a significant injury.
The New England Patriots wide receiver suffered a knee injury in 2023
Kendrick Bourne exited in the 4th quarter with a knee injury during their 17-31 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 8. An MRI confirmed that he tore his ACL. As a result, he missed the rest of the season and faced a long recovery.
So far, he has missed OTAs and mandatory minicamp. He isn’t quite ready.
Kendrick Bourne will start training camp on the PUP list
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Patriots placed Bourne on the active/PUP list. He will count against the 90-man roster and isn’t allowed to practice. If he practices, they must activate him to the active roster.
He will miss the first four games of 2024 if he’s on the reserve/PUP list while roster cuts are being made.
The #Patriots will start RB Antonio Gibson on the NFI list, while Kendrick Bourne and Cole Strange will start on PUP. Jackson Powers-Johnson (#Raiders) starts on PUP.

Jerod Mayo gave a brief injury update on their receiver
“So those guys are going to go out here and run here in a second, so we’ll evaluate that. He’s been progressing, and we’ll see what it looks like,” Mayo said.
We will have more information once it’s available. We will keep you posted.
