The usually dependent and well-run New England Patriots are amid a nightmare 2023 campaign, with even the most minor moves causing unraveling within the franchise. On Tuesday, Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown took to social media, seemingly taking a shot at the Patriots for their most recent transaction, trading former Louisville standout and rookie quarterback Malik Cunningham to the Baltimore Ravens.

New England Patriots OT Trent Brown: Takes Subtle Shot at Franchise
“Go flourish where your talent is respected, lil bradda,” said New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown on Tuesday, taking to Instagram in the wake of the team moving quarterback Malik Cunningham to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Patriots have struggled mightily on offense this season, specifically at the quarterback position. Former first-round pick Mac Jones has thrown just ten touchdowns to 12 interceptions in 11 games, with the Patriots turning to Bailey Zappe in Week 14. Zappe played well in his second season start, tossing three touchdowns in a road win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the Pats rank near the bottom of the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns while third-stringer Malik Cunningham sat on the sidelines.
Malik Cunningham: Reuniting with Former Louisville Cardinals teammate Lamar Jackson
Cunningham, an undrafted free agent signee with the New England Patriots this offseason, will join the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday. Cunningham posted monster numbers with the Louisville Cardinals from 2018 to 2022, throwing for 9,664 yards and 70 touchdowns against 29 picks. The dual-threat quarterback also ran for 3,182 yards and 50 touchdowns. Cunningham’s first year with Louisville came in 2017, with the signal-caller redshirting while sitting behind Heisman Trophy Award-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson.
However, the two gunslingers will reunite in 2023, with Cunningham again playing a backup role to Jackson. Cunningham made just six pass attempts this preseason while rushing six times for 39 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Jackson has accounted for 21 touchdowns against 12 turnovers this season. The Ravens are 10-3 and sit comfortably atop the AFC North standings.
