Chicago Bears made a lot of offseason moves. Including coaching changes, drafting key rookies and free agent signings. Who is the best pick so far? Or who will make the biggest impact? The answer isn’t as simple as it sounds.
Byron Pringle
Coming over from the Kansas City Chiefs where he was a number three wideout in most schemes. Coming to Chicago where it looks like he will compete for the number two spot opposite of Darnell Mooney. This looks like a great addition, his speed and ball handling skills makes for a fantastic number two. His impact is a grade B for me. This is due to the unknown of how he can handle getting the ball more.
Running Game
David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert heading up the Chicago Bears running back duo.
Why isn’t this listed as individual players? Answer is simple, Herbert and Montgomery are incredible duo. The stats speak for them selves and the additions at WR also show these are some of the best run blockers. Which means, offensive linemen drafted, run blocking receivers and fresh legs every down makes for 150 yard games on the ground. Grade A-
Rookie Duo?
When these picks happened in the draft, I believe all Bears fans were asking why not offensive linemen? Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker could be a rookie duo the Bears secondary desperatly needed. In 2020, Chicago had one of the best secondary’s in the NFL. In 2021 it was a different story, losing Fuller left a huge hole in the secondary. Jaylon Johnson needs help and Kyler could be what Dr. Eberflus (Dr because he is a defense guru) needs. Grade is a B+, always hard to grade rookies fighting for starting jobs.
