The Minnesota Vikings are doubling down on their leadership vision for the future, officially signing general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to a multi-year contract extension.
The deal comes just five months after the team extended head coach Kevin O’Connell, cementing the Adofo-Mensah/O’Connell duo as the long-term architects of the franchise.

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah Unconventional Style
Adofo-Mensah, 43, took over as GM in 2022 with an unconventional résumé: a Wall Street background, a Princeton education, and a reputation for analytics-driven decision-making. He has now become a key part of what defines the Vikings and the team owners have confirmed they are behind his method.
“This organization means so much to me,” Adofo-Mensah said in a statement. “There’s a true commitment to creating a winning culture with the goal of competing year in and year out.”
Under his leadership, the Vikings have posted the NFL’s sixth-best regular-season winning percentage (.667) and made two playoff appearances. Despite criticisms about the lack of production from recent draft classes — the team ranks second-to-last in starts by drafted players since 2022 — Adofo-Mensah has made up for it with aggressive and effective free agency moves.

In 2024, he landed Sam Darnold, Jonathan Greenard, and Andrew Van Ginkel, bringing them all to play with the Vikings and this return helped them make the playoffs again. He made a big investment in 2025, increasing his team’s spending on the league to a record $362.3 million.
Team owner Mark Wilf commented that
“Kwesi’s leadership and vision have positioned the Vikings for sustained success.” “We’re confident he and Kevin O’Connell will continue to guide us toward our ultimate goal — a championship.”
Part of announcing the extension, the Vikings also named Ryan Grigson and Demitrius Washington assistant general managers, underscoring their teamwork and future-focused approach.
Putting Adofo-Mensah’s analytical mind and O’Connell’s player-first leadership in place, the Vikings hope this fresh approach will see them win their first Lombardi Trophy.
