The Minnesota Vikings have surprised everyone so far this season after going undefeated in the first six weeks of the 2024 season. Quarterback Sam Darnold has been looking like the front-runner for MVP this year, and the defense has been amongst the top in the league. However, the team has been lacking some depth at the running back position, and they are predicted to go after an elite rusher before the trade deadline.
Minnesota Vikings Could Sign Running Back
The Vikings could sign Houston Texans star Dameon Pierce to further add to their running back room. Minnesota’s current starter, Aaron Jones, has been great this season, but he has been dealing with a hip injury that could limit his production as the year goes on.
Dameon Pierce Career
Pierce has been limited to his production on the Texans after the team went out this past offseason and signed Joe Mixon and Cam Akers. He has amounted to 1,447 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in his three years in the league and has proven that he can be an effective option in the backfield.
Having the addition of Pierce in the high-powered Vikings’ offense could take them to an even higher level and ensure that their rushing attack will be solid throughout the season. Pierce is currently listed third on the Texans’ depth chart, and signing with a team like Minnesota could give him a more important role.
Do you think the Vikings will sign Pierce before the trade deadline, or will they look to add someone else?
